Apple waffles
- 3 large apples
- 2 eggs
- 60 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 80 g unsalted butter, softened
- 180 ml milk
- 220 g plain flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- A little butter or neutral oil, for the waffle iron
- Wooden skewers
Cinnamon-sugar topping
- 50 g sugar
- 1–1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- Caramel sauce, to taste

Method
- Wash the apples and cut them crosswise into slices about 1.5–2 cm thick. Remove the core from each slice if needed, then carefully thread the slices onto wooden skewers.
- Beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar briefly until creamy. Add the softened butter and milk, then mix again.
- Add the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Mix only until a thick, smooth batter forms.
- Preheat the waffle iron and grease it lightly with butter or neutral oil.
- Dip each apple slice completely into the batter and let the excess drip off briefly.
- Place the coated slices in the waffle iron and cook for 3–5 minutes, depending on the appliance, until golden brown.
- Mix the topping sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Remove the warm apple waffles from their skewers and coat them in the cinnamon sugar.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce to taste and serve warm.
